While the head and hands will be vinyl - you have a choice of two different types of body - one is referred to as Cortex and the other as Vinyl. Both body types are pre-built.
About Shipping Fees
This page provides the latest information on our shipping rates. We continuously adjust these rates in response to the increasing charges from DHL and FedEx. Despite these increases, we continue to absorb a significant portion of the shipping costs, ensuring that they are not fully passed on to you.
This subsidy comes partly from our product margins, which we allocate to help cover these shipping expenses. As you can see from our recent DHL bill, we are subject to various additional charges including "Remote Area" fees, "Emergency Situation" surcharges (even post-pandemic), and a "Fuel Surcharge". To top it off, we're also taxed on these services. FedEx charges us a "Demand Surcharge" when they are busy...(which is all the time).
Both DHL and FedEx calculate charges based on volumetric weight. This means that even if a product weighs just 100 grams, if its size exceeds the volume of the lowest tier, the cost jumps to the second tier.
Our Smart Dolls are shipped in thick, double-corrugated boxes. This sturdy packaging ensures their protection and also maintains their cryosleep during transit. Since the cargo hold temperature can be 20 degrees colder than in the passenger cabin, cryosleep is necessary for a comfortable journey for the dolls.
However, the weight and size of these boxes contribute to the higher courier charges. We recommend keeping this page bookmarked, as we will regularly update it to reflect any changes in courier pricing.
About Merging Orders
In the past, we managed to consolidate multiple doll orders into one box and partially refund the shipping fees. However, this practice is no longer sustainable for us. Moving forward, we will need to charge shipping fees for each individual doll, regardless of whether they are shipped in one box or in multiple boxes.
For customers placing multiple orders and requesting to merge items with a shipping fee refund, we will continue to accommodate these requests as much as possible and often do so automatically when feasible. However, please be aware that each time we process a shipping fee refund, we incur a 5% fee from PayPal. This is because the original transaction incurred costs, which PayPal passes on to us ;-)
We are currently able to absorb the shipping fees and additional costs resulting from order cancellations or mergers. However, please understand that we may not be able to sustain this practice indefinitely. We are committed to continuously reviewing and adjusting our policies to strike a balance between accommodating our customers' needs and managing the financial aspects of shipping.
About Shipping Times
As a reminder, we require a 15-day lead time before dispatching orders. This is clearly stated on the product detail page and reiterated throughout the checkout process. However, we often receive inquiries about the shipment status of packages less than 24 hours after an order is placed. Such queries are interpreted as a need for immediate shipping, which we are unable to provide.
To avoid any misunderstandings, we put orders on hold that seem to expect immediate dispatch. We then ask customers to confirm whether they are willing to wait the standard lead time. This step significantly delays the shipment of that order.
Additionally, we've observed queries regarding why one order may have shipped earlier than another, or why a current shipment might be taking longer than a previous one. It's crucial to understand that the processing of each order is influenced by a range of factors. These include the availability of items and any potential issues with the addresses provided. The timing of shipment is not determined by the status of other orders, whether they belong to friends or are previous orders of the same customer. Each order is unique and is processed based on its specific circumstances.
We recognize that our policies might not align with everyone's values, so we encourage customers to take this into consideration before making a purchase. Our goal is to be transparent and fair, ensuring you have all the necessary information to make informed decisions.
