Introducing Collage Evolve - Apparel & Accessory Designers. If you design and or sell apparel or accessories specifically to fit the body contour of Smart Doll then I would like to make it easier for Smart Doll customers to discover your work.
I understand that there are folks out there who either make generic 1/3 scale sizes or use other doll contour measurements and market their goodies as "also fits Smart Doll" - I guess it would be fair to highlight their work too but perhaps at a later date as this time round I'm focusing on family first.
I've been fortunate enough to work with creators who are exclusively using Smart Doll as a platform for their work such as
@maruko_halu,
@puppy52,
@tobiasmalfoy,
@squishdellia, and
@bebeandciciSome of these folks are currently working on our Anime/Hollywood licenses who will be credited on the product detail pages when the products have been approved for announcement.
In order to recruit more family members on deck, it's crucial that the creators we work with have a good understanding of the Smart Doll body - it's possibilities and limitations. The above mentioned creators have demonstrated that they have an understanding of terminology used in the industry and an ability to create patterns on an industrial level that our factories in Japan can use for production with minimum modification on our side. They also understand the shrinkage rates that need to be calculated for items that go through a stone wash etc.
3D modelers have access to their own 3D printers at home - this enables them to perform rapid prototyping and deliver STL files for immediate fabrication in our Tokyo office.
Even if you are not interested in working at Smart Doll Land but would like your online store highlighted then please do participate. Hopefully by highlighting your work, we can help drive traffic to your brand.
If you are thinking of starting your own gig then you can use the free patterns also on the Smart Doll online store under Secret Stuff >
Free Stuff.

If you think that the above blurb applies to you then just scroll down to the bottom of this page and click/tap on the icon to add the link to your Instagram post. We are going to be brutally tough on submissions as only designers who use Smart Doll as a platform will be approved. Check if the terms below are kushty before proceeding.
- Folks who use other doll brands as body measurements for their work but label their goodies as "also fits Smart Doll" will not be approved for the above reasons mentioned multiple times ;-)
- Having your submission approved does not in anyway imply that we are hiring you full or part time.
- Folks have no need to pay us to have their brand featured and we do not pay to feature their content.
- Having your submission approved does not in anyway imply that we own any rights to your brand - we are simply helping folks to discover your goodies.
- I recommend using a clean photo composition. Take note of the design principle Horror Vacui which means "fear of empty spaces" - this is deeply rooted in modern Japanese culture where any white space is seen as wasted therefore filled to the brim. As a note - clutter makes your brand look cheap while white space will make your goodies look more exclusive - its really up to you how you want to portray your brand.
- There will be a regular build to render Instagram submissions into a collage image. If you want to change the photo that appears in the collage then just submit a new photo - the latest one will be used. Please do not contact us asking to change the photo - just upload a new one and submit it to this page.
- I recommend that you don't have your photo plastered with text all over it - it will probably be illegible when the collage is rendered.
- Make sure your photo is a square - meaning no bio hazard corridor scene (heads cut off).
- When folks visit your Instagram for the first time, you need to think about the first run experience - make sure the blurb in your profile is clear and concise with a link to your website or etsy etc. The blurb for the actual photo you are submitting should contain a selection of your work - but thats up to you.
- Submissions that are not approved does by no way suggest that your goodies are not good enough. It could be varying factors ranging from composition of photo to folks submitting their "also fits Smart Doll" brands ;-)
