Which is the right set for you? あなたにぴったりのセットは?

Smart Doll's are available in two different flavors - a "Sports Bra Set" & "Apparel Set." Guys normally wear bra's at home when nobody is looking but our Smart Doll guys don't which is why we've given them a pair of Boxer Shorts instead. If you are buying a Smart Doll for the first time then choosing either set is enough - you do not need to get anything else in addition - but extra accessories will enhance your Smart Doll experience.
If you are going to keep your Smart Doll at home or in the office and prefer them skimpy then go for the Sports Bra Set - but the Apparel Set is way better value for your cash.

Choose the Apparel set if you plan on taking them out n about - and save money at the same time as it will cost you more to buy the apparel set items separately. If you take them out in the Sports Bra Set then they may catch a cold. Alternatively you may want to go for the Sports Bra Set and then choose to customize the look and feel of your Smart Doll by buying additional apparel items. You can see what items the current Apparel Set consists of on this page.

Which is the right body type for you? あなたにぴったりのボディータイプは?

While the head and hands will be vinyl - you have a choice of two different types of body - one is referred to as Cortex and the other as Vinyl. Both body types are pre-built.

Both are made from the same 3D data and share pretty much the same shape and form - all our apparel, accessories and body parts are compatible with both body types. The fundamental difference is the material and the way they are constructed. Vinyl being more expensive does not make it better than Cortex. Neither type is more superior than the other and they both have their own strengths depending on your needs.

To find out more about the differences then read the Cortex or Vinyl post which should give you more info to make a decision.

Asking for the following will result in a cancellation and refund of your order.

  1. Asking for a discount
  2. Asking us to lower the declaration value of your order
  3. Asking us to ship out ASAP
  4. Asking us to deliver by a particular date
  5. Asking us who shot first - Han or Greedo

Unfortunately we don't own DHL or FedEx (yet) nor do we have celestial powers over a pandemic to guarantee a delivery date on the other side of the world - and we don't enjoy it when people refuse to pay import taxes resulting in goods being returned to us. Not to mention that there are people who reject packages that don't arrive in time for a birthday.

We presume that your order is reliant on such requests being answered.
We can't do any of the above and can't tell you who shot first even though we think it was Han. So don't ask :-)

While the Chelsea boot design dates back to the Victorian era, the name apparently derived from the design becoming popular back in the fifties and sixties in an area called Chelsea in London.

Chelsea is also home to a Japanese restaurant called "Benihana" where I used to work as a waiter for many years.

I remember my first paycheque so vividly. I opened the envelope and just stood there looking at my first wage in silence - unable to move and confused.

How was it that I worked so many hours until late in the evenings only to be compensated so little?

After leaving my dad's studio, I had no income, so I had little choice but to continue working at Benihana - but I'm glad I did, as it changed my life.

It wasn't until later that I discovered the wage was calculated according to sales. During quiet periods, the wage was rock bottom low, but during busy times, the wage was generous. I managed to save enough every year to visit Japan, where I could soak in the culture and improve my Japanese speaking.

During busy periods, Benihana was hectic - which was great as I learned to deal with so much chaos - customers, staff, logistics, inventory, quality control, and what have you.

These days, if I am hiring, I rather give priority to folks who have worked in a restaurant than to folks with a BA or MA.

I also met wifey at Benihana - I am lucky to be with her ;-)

So there you have it - my "Chelsea" story ;-)

We kept the design of the boot orthodox, but we made sure to make them look as weathered as possible so expect a ton of uneven blemishes on the surface that will patina over time as you handle it with your hands soaked in the aftermath of having some Mc Donald's fries.

Unlike human versions, we put a zip on the inside to allow it to be worn with ease.

Reasons Not To Buy

  1. Smart Doll boots will probably cost more than your human footwear unless you are one of those sneaker collectors - in which case your Smart Doll may get jealous and slap you.
  2. While the lining of the boot is cream-colored to minimize the risk of staining, the surface of the leather does not have such stain prevention measures. As such, anything left in contact with the outside of the boot may end up staining.
  3. Until we find a better longer lasting alternative to faux leather, Smart Doll boots are made of real leather and thus will have blemishes. The patina will develop over time but if you want an even more weathered look then you can lightly sand the surface or rub the surface with your fingers. The oils from your hands will seep into the roughened areas. Just make sure that if you just had a Big Mac to wash your hands first as thats not the type of oils I'm talking about.
  4. If the product name is "brown blah boots" then don't expect the color to be the same brown in the photos - it can be anything from light to dark brown. Same for "wine red blah boots" - it can be anything from light to dark wine red.
  5. Not great for water activities such as scuba diving or snorkeling.
  6. Not effective for ice cream storage.
  7. Will not look good with a wedding dress - unless the Smart Doll bride is planning on doing a runner after the wedding.
  8. The soles do not have nonstick abilities like Teflon fry pans - if your Smart Doll steps in dog poo, then poo will do as stepped-in-poo does. If this happens, gently tell your Smart Doll to avoid purposely stepping in poo and look for a patch of grass to wipe the shoe on.

Just make sure that a dog didn't previously visit the patch of grass, or you will end up adding another layer of poo that protects the first layer. If this happens, then you will need to wait until the first layer dries before using a chisel and hammer to remove both layers. Do not inhale while you proceed to de-poo the shoes.

Also, if you didn’t gently tell your Smart Doll to avoid the poo, they may get angry and trample on your pillow before you can catch them (because the boots are so comfy they can run faster even when covered in poo.) If this happens, just turn the pillow over before you sleep.
