Design Update
This is the revamped version of the Post Apocalyptic Sweater and Sports Bra Set. As you can see from the release dates on many product detail pages, where possible, we aim for our apparel items to become long-sellers - rather than convince you to swap out your wardrobe every three months like the fast fashion industry.
However, as our apparel is reliant on the same production lines as human clothing, fabrics do get discontinued from time to time.
The previous fabric for the previous Post Apoc sweater got discontinued, and I was like Noooooooooo!
But I love the design and what it stands for, so instead of discontinuing the item, we started to prototype various alternative fabrics. But attaining the look and feel of the previous thin gauze-like fabric was a challenge.
The closest fabric we could find felt stiff, and because it wasn't as thin as the previous version, the front looked flat and plain. We overcame this problem by adding a patchwork stripe diagonally across the front, which had to be repositioned a few times as the initial versions looked like they were pointing at the crotch area.
The final design still felt stiff, so we gave the garment a stonewash to give it a more weathered post-apocalyptic look. The sports bra is the same design and fabric as the previous version.
About The Product
In a post-apocalyptic scenario, resources are minimal where humans need to scavenge and make do with what's available. Survival naturally has a higher priority than "keeping up appearances" - thus, clothes are made for protective reasons rather than looking good. Due to the lack of fabrics, humans of the post-apoc era would patch together what they could find.
This sweater symbolizes two things - "work with what you got" and "don't give a sheep about what others think of your attire."
As we journey through life, not all of us will have the means or resources to make what we want. But this sort of restriction has enabled us to innovate as a species. Complaining about what you don't have will bring you nothing - while the will to work with what you got will bring you a step closer to your goals.
Living in a post-apoc environment, outrunning zombies and scavenging for resources to make medical kits or molotovs will give you a survival advantage over spending time on appearances. Zombies won't judge the taste of your brain from how you look.
Speaking of zombies, can't wait for
Metal Slug Tactics!
