"Life is what you make it - but to make a fulfilling life, you need to go above and beyond."

The brain makes up only 2% of our body mass and yet uses up 20% of our energy. For this reason, our brains have developed to be as energy efficient as possible, and one way it does this is to make sure we take the easy path - humans are lazy by default.

As hunter-gatherers on the savanna many moons ago, humans needed to expend much energy and risk their lives to scavenge for resources and hunt for food. Now we live in a society that has been crafted to be so convenient that there is little need to expend energy at all - it takes a mere 10 millionth of a calorie to click a mouse button and have food/resources arrive on the doorstep - all without the risk of being eaten by a large bird of prey.

The society we live in strengthens our default programming to be lazy through the convenience of transport, food supplies, and the Internet. For this reason, many of us continue to live in the comfort zone until it's time to kick the bucket.

Two rules govern the world we live in - "high risk, high return" and "no pain, no gain." If you find yourself in the comfort zone, you need to ask whether it fulfills your needs - if it does, then that's fine - if not, then it's time to go above and beyond.

Beyond is a reminder that if you have needs that the comfort zone can't fulfill, you need to take the risk and prepare for the pain of going above and beyond. The bigger your goals, the higher the hurdles will be and the harder you will fall when you trip on a hurdle.

Each fall will be painful, but you will have gained the experience needed to tackle the next hurdle.

The risks you undertake may be substantial, but you probably won't need to worry about being eaten by that large bird of prey.

About the new black and Ash "Twist Out" wig

The Twist Out wig is made of yarn and is one of the more challenging wigs to maintain. Once the wig has been attached, the wig cap may be visible - in which case you need to use some finger ninja to hide the cap while poking and twisting at the yarn. You may also need to pull the wig cap over the ears to get a better fit.

The Black Twist Out has a dark brown cap while the Ash version has a white cap. The white cap may have slight stains from the dyeing of the ash yarn.

If you don't feel confident in your ninja skills then avoid this product.

ABOUT COCOA SKIN

Soft vinyl, while a wonderful material, is prone to scuff marks. While these are almost invisible on Cinnamon or Tea skin tones, they can be more noticeable on Cocoa. To address this, we provide a free Melamine sponge upon request with your order. Include a note in the order field requesting the "free melamine sponge."

When removing scuff marks, gently buff the surface with the sponge in a circular motion. If the scuff is on the face, take extra care to avoid disturbing the makeup. The process may leave a bit of sponge residue, but it's easily brushed off. Following these steps, scuffs will either vanish or become significantly less apparent.

Please be aware that due to the slush casting process, minor blemishes can occur, which might be more visible on the Cocoa skin tone. If you anticipate this as a potential issue, we recommend considering this factor before purchasing.

ABOUT TAKING PHOTOS

We often hear feedback suggesting that our cocoa skin tone dolls pose a challenge to photograph. For those finding it difficult, consider researching photography techniques or trying out camera apps that offer adjustable exposure settings.

It's worth noting that this advice isn't exclusive to cocoa dolls - it can equally apply to our cinnamon skin tones, where overexposure can be a concern. A slight adjustment of exposure settings (and willingness to learn) can go a long way in getting the perfect shot.
