Life isn’t always fair.

Sometimes people will kick dirt in your face. They may try to cut you down to size, put you in your place, or throw you off course simply because you chose a path of your own.

It’s never pleasant when it happens. But Before You Know It is here to remind us that sometimes what looks like a stumbling block can become a stepping stone.

When the road is smooth and the wind is always at your back, it’s easy to settle into a comfortable pace. But sometimes it takes a little friction to light a fire.

And when somebody adds fuel to that fire, you get to decide what burns.

The people who stand beside you are precious. But strangely enough, the people who try to stand in your way can sometimes give you an even bigger push forward.

So don’t waste that fire burning bridges or settling scores. Turn the other cheek, but keep your feet moving. Take the dirt they threw at you and use it as ground to build on.

When somebody tries to knock you down a peg, use it as a leg up. They wanted to get under your skin. Let them light a fire under you instead.

There’s a certain irony in trying to stop somebody, only to become the reason they move faster.

So when life kicks dirt in your face, don’t let it bury you. Use it to gain traction.

Let the setbacks become stepping stones. Let the friction light the fire. Let the headwinds teach you how to fly.

Keep moving, keep building, and keep becoming more of who you were meant to be.

Before you know it, you may look back and realize that some of the hardest shoves you received were the very ones that pushed you furthest forward.
