This Classic Body vinyl set (default body) is intended for repair and customization purposes and is not required for normal Smart Doll ownership. Folks purchasing a Classic Body Smart Doll for the first time do not need to buy this product, and most customers will never need to replace the vinyl body parts unless they are performing repairs (for example, removing stains that are not covered under our warranty) or carrying out custom modifications.
Only customers who already have experience assembling a Smart Doll should consider purchasing this product. Assembly instructions are not provided. Evolve Frame is not included.
Some body parts must be heated or warmed as part of the standard Smart Doll assembly process so the limbs and spine can be inserted. Once everything is seated, the spine is secured at the back of the body using the spine socket.
If you are considering swapping vinyl onto a Gen 2 frame...
Removing a Gen 2 frame in order to replace the vinyl is extremely difficult. Many Gen 2 frames were glued tightly at the spine socket, and removing them can tear the vinyl around the socket area. Damage in this area is irreversible.
In addition, many body components were originally cast with thicknesses designed specifically for the Gen 2 frame.
For these reasons we do not recommend attempting this unless you are a very experienced Smart Doll DIY veteran. If you choose to proceed anyway, please understand that we are not responsible for any damage caused to the body during the process.
Smart Doll body parts are designed specifically for the Smart Doll Evolve Frame. Compatibility with other doll brands has not been tested, and modifications may be required before use.
Due to the hollow nature of the body parts, they may become slightly squished or misshapen during transit. If you notice any parts looking out of shape, they can usually be restored by gently heating them with a hairdryer or by soaking them in hot water (around 75°C / 167°F). Please be careful not to burn yourself — or anyone else — in the process.
