Update - cinnamon added. Cinnamon upper arms have screws in the back and are bagged as a kit - no keep calm bag included.
"Chaos - Cortex Assembled Body" are not actually outlet grade but of product grade and were assembled for the purpose of when we offered Cortex as a body option. As previously mentioned, Cortex didn't quite work out as I expected in terms of cost and execution. While I'm pleased with the actual product - not only did it take too long to assemble (much longer than vinyl), the design of the runner wasn't great meaning that one huge box could only fit 20 sets - and each time we had a delivery of 1000 sets, boxes filled up the street!
In the end, the amount of Cortex sets that we sold didn't cover the cost of research & development + mold costs but we did gain something that money can't buy - extended knowledge and experience of injection molding. Without the learnings of Cortex as a building block, we wouldn't have the experience needed to move on to the next big thing - something that will be of a surprise to all in the future ;-)
These bodies are only made available to existing Smart Doll owners. Newbies who order this product will have their order cancelled and refunded.
Just like a human, if you bend the elbows backwards, something will break! In the case of vinyl, the back of the upper arm will warp but for Cortex as the material is rigid, it will crack - take note especially when wearing long sleeves as you cant see the direction of the joint.
There are only a limited amount of assembled Cortex bodies - while some licensed products may come in a Cortex body to offset the cost of the apparel, we have no plans of offering Cortex as a body option in the future.
Hands are vinyl. Bust and rest of body is Cortex. Body will be shipped like a Smart Doll in the Keep Calm Bag.
If you have a spare vinyl or Cortex head then you will be able to mount it on these Cortex bodies but you may need to push a bit hard. The neck hole on the head is generally small so that it doesn't do the spinning head of doom. If your head does have a hole larger than normal then just heat it with a hairdryer to make it small.
Cortex bodies will come with grit 1500 sponge sandpaper while the cocoa bodies will come with a net mesh.
While Cortex is more resilient against staining (but not invincible), it does attract scuff marks - most of which can be removed with the sponge sandpaper.
Cocoa Cortex bodies are very shiny in appearance.
While these are product grade bodies, they do not come with a warranty just like everything in the Chaos section - if your human instincts are throwing up red flags then you should probably turn away now.
All bodies will come with the telescopic stand.
