Qingyi (青衣) is a classic role type in Chinese opera - the woman who stands tall even when the world tries to bend her.
She is composed and dignified - a presence built on inner control rather than volume. Not fragile. Not easily shaken. She has known hardship, loss and sacrifice, yet carries herself with quiet strength. A Qingyi does not demand attention - she commands respect simply by existing.
The makeup of the Qingyi is unmistakable - a porcelain white face with dramatic red tones sweeping around the eyes and temples. The contrast is striking. White for composure and inner discipline. Red for emotion held just beneath the surface - a reminder that strength does not mean the absence of feeling.
White is the latest limited edition skin tone in Smart Doll Land, and it felt right that our first character developed just for this tone draw inspiration from Qingyi. The luminous white vinyl becomes her stage. The red around the eyes echoes centuries of performance tradition, while her expression remains steady and self-possessed.
She is not fragile porcelain.
She is resilience in white.
Production NotesThis character draws inspiration from the Qingyi role in Chinese opera. Her makeup is presented as a modern, stylized interpretation rather than an accurate reproduction. Our goal is to capture the spirit and emotional strength of the role within the Smart Doll format.
The large red eyeshadow gradient on Qingyi softly fades out, but the outer edge of the paint mask may still be faintly visible in certain lighting conditions. This is usually subtle, but may be noticeable to folks who wish to display Qingyi without a wig or with her hair tied back.
Also, Qingyi comes with the new Katakana Sports Bra - we do not offer an option to choose between this and the older romaji version.
Please take this into consideration if you are deciding on a purchase.

Before You Buy - Porcelain White (Summary)Porcelain White uses a full soft body so parts age at a similar rate, helping reduce long-term color mismatch. The softer surface may feel grippier when dressing, but allows for a wider range of articulation.
Due to the lighter tone, yellowing, small blemishes and subtle texture variations are more visible than on darker skin tones. This also results in a higher rejection rate during production, which affects availability and pricing.
You may also occasionally notice faint blue marks or traces of blush overspray on heads and body parts. Based on our observations, we believe the blue marks are caused by tiny airborne particles becoming trapped in the sofubi during casting, as our production environment is not an airtight cleanroom.
Blush overspray around areas such as the ears is a natural result of the hand-painting process and occurs on all skin tones, but is much more noticeable on Porcelain White. Any heads with blue marks or paint visible on the face are rejected into Chaos, but faint marks in areas normally covered by the wig (such as around the sides or back of the head) may still pass inspection. The photos above show examples of the level of cosmetic variation you may encounter.
Over time, slight discoloration and subtle differences in hue may occur, even within the same batch. Environmental factors such as UV exposure—especially in high-altitude or sunny regions—may accelerate this.
Availability may be limited and released in batches due to both production yield and ongoing raw material supply challenges.
If you are particularly sensitive to cosmetic imperfections or require strict color consistency, Porcelain White may not be the right option for you.
