Our pumps now come only in matte. We sandblasted the mold so that everything cast from it now has a matte surface. I will still leave the customer photos of the previous version below.
The mold of these vinyl pumps was made from an actual pair of leather pumps. By creating the mold this way, we managed to replicate the imperfections of the human stitched version.
These pumps fit the default feet that come with a Smart Doll fine but the pumps will rattle around a bit if you...shake your Smart Doll. Shaking your Smart Doll is not a wise thing to do unless you are OK with sleeping with your one eye open.
The pumps do not rattle if your Smart Doll is standing stationary on a flat surface. If you hear a rattling noise, it's probably because they ran off to get some snacks.
No ink is used in this product so it won't stain the feet - if you find dark grimy marks on the feet, it's probably dust or dirt that accumulates over time. As with all our vinyl products, expect blemishes such as air bubbles and wrinkles on the surface of the shoe.
These pumps can be worn with the default or high heel feet.
Characteristics such as air bubbles, stretch marks, dents, small bumps, and markings such as birthmark-like spots (that folks are accustomed to seeing on our Smart Doll bodies) are inherent to slush casting.
We carefully reject parts that may negatively affect the overall aesthetic. However, even accepted parts may show these characteristics more clearly on lighter colors. This can give the impression of lower quality compared to other tones, but in reality, it is simply due to increased visibility.
The Crystal pumps have their own story to tell. Due to the see-through nature of the Crystal pumps, high heel feet may look better depending on your preference - however, both default and high heel feet will look like they are floating inside the shoe.
Depending on the position of the foot inside the shoe, you may see a dark patch/shadow on the side of the foot - this is just the vinyl clinging to the foot. If you find the shoe difficult to get on then just heat it up with either a hairdryer or run it under hot water without burning yourself.
Air bubbles and dust in particular stand out due to the transparency of the Crystal version. The air bubbles actually do look good if you are lucky to get some because they look like champagne bubbles.
Crystal pumps may appear to have a slight yellow tint or develop one over time.
