In the spirit of transparency and helping folks make an informed decision, I want to share two characteristics of the G11 sculpt.
First off, the mold was created using electroplating—a process where unpredictability plays a huge role in the outcome. Many Smart Doll owners are already familiar with how this can result in dents or bumps in the mold. G11 is no exception. There’s a deep dent behind the left ear that appears on all casts, as it’s part of the mold and not something we can fix. We decided to keep using the mold rather than discard it, as the dent is covered by the wig. However, we totally understand that this may be a deal-breaker for some folks.
You’ll also notice a small dot next to the “G11” mark—this signifies that the production mold was created from a cast of the master.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the surface finish on this sculpt is slightly shinier than some of our other semi-real designs. This effect is more noticeable on Coffee and Cocoa tones.
We hope this level of transparency helps you make a well-informed choice before welcoming G11 into your collection.
