This product is intended for repair and customization purposes and is not required for normal Smart Doll ownership. If you are new to Smart Doll, you do not need to purchase this product. All Smart Dolls already include an Evolve Frame, and most customers will never need to install or replace one unless they are performing advanced repairs or custom modifications.

This Evolve Frame is compatible with Classic, Pear, Guy and Cyber Shell Cortex 2 dolls released after March 3rd 2023. It is the internal skeletal system used in all Smart Dolls produced since that date. The frame features a gear-based joint system that delivers subtle tactile and auditory feedback when posing. As each limb moves into place you will feel and hear a small “click,” confirming alignment while giving you precise control when adjusting poses.

It is also suitable for folks customizing their Smart Doll or creating hybrids. Only customers who already have experience assembling a Smart Doll should consider purchasing this product. Assembly instructions are not provided.

The frame is partially assembled. To install it, the sofubi body parts must be heated or warmed as part of the standard Smart Doll assembly process so the limbs and spine can be inserted. Once everything is seated, the spine is secured at the back of the body using the spine socket.

Two spare screws are included for attaching the spine socket. If you accidentally lose one during assembly, you will have a replacement. In the unlikely event that a screw is swallowed, please seek medical attention immediately. If you lose both screws, you can find replacements on Amazon. You will need two M3 tapping screws (12 mm length).

If you are considering upgrading from a Gen 2 frame...

Replacing a Gen 2 frame is extremely difficult. Many Gen 2 frames were glued tightly at the spine socket, and removing them can tear the vinyl around the socket area. Damage in this area is irreversible.

In addition, many body components were originally cast with thicknesses designed specifically for the Gen 2 frame.

For these reasons we do not recommend replacing a Gen 2 frame unless you are a very experienced Smart Doll DIY veteran. If you choose to proceed anyway, please understand that we are not responsible for any damage caused to the body during the process.

The Evolve Frame is designed specifically for Smart Doll. Compatibility with other doll brands has not been tested and modifications may be required before use.
