This is the 3rd generation Eye Cradle used to install eyes into Smart Doll heads.
The latest version has an improved shape to better fit inside the head and securely hold the eyes in place. The “antenna” at the front now features subtle grooves to help keep the Blu-tac in place.
The cradle is translucent, which allows us to see the Blu-tac underneath and better gauge how much is used and how evenly it’s spread.
Because of this, you may notice marks or residue from the injection molding process. This is normal for all of our injection parts, but more noticeable on translucent ones.
We used to sell these separately, but now include them with every Smart Doll purchase. While this does add to our costs, it saves time during installation, so it balances out.
You will need Blu-tac or a similar putty (not included), which you can find at your local stationery store or on Amazon.
Our Eye Cradles are fitted quite tightly to prevent the eyes from shifting during transit. If you need to remove one, please use a pair of pliers - and take care not to pinch yourself or others.
Thanks to Palm Beach Smarties for reminding me to register this product :-)
