Asthma is an inflammatory disease that causes the airways into the lungs to narrow - this can make it difficult to breathe, which is characterized by wheezing when breathing out.
Asthma can be triggered by various environmental factors such as pollen or dust, but stress can trigger an asthma attack too. Genetics also plays a big part in asthma.
There is no cure for asthma, but a device such as an inhaler can help improve the quality of life for people with asthma - as it did for me.
An inhaler is a device that has a canister filled with a medication that, when inhaled, causes the airways in the lungs to relax, making it easier to breathe. Salbutamol, Albuterol, and Ventolin are just some of the names that folks call their inhaler.
Asthma runs in the family for me - as a child, I had to rely heavily on an inhaler. These days, while I may get wheezy from time to time, I don't rely on an inhaler anymore.
If you are a Smart Doll owner and rely on an inhaler, you do not need to purchase this item. Just leave a note with your order telling us your one-liner asthma story, and we will put one in for free - this applies to folks who are buying a Smart Doll for the first time too.
While we provide the inhaler for free, we ask that you let us place it in your order - we cannot ship this item out on its own. At this moment in time, we can only provide one for free per household. If you require more than one, buy however many you require and leave a note - we will put one in for free in addition to the number you ordered.
Designed by @alan.tecua, the 3D-printed inhaler can be effectively held with the grip hands in Option Hand Pack 2 or 3. The default hands can just about hold the inhaler, depending on how you position it.
As with all our 3D printed products, do expect support studs on the surface - we do the bare minimum to remove them, but you will need to sand down the surfaces if you want them super smooth.
While the design may not resemble all inhalers - it does look like the one I used, and I think that the design is a decent representation - even though it does not have a mouth cap or removable canister ;-)
