While the head and hands will be vinyl - you have a choice of two different types of body - one is referred to as Cortex and the other as Vinyl. Both body types are pre-built.

Starting now, all doll orders will be shipped in our new Be Seen bags, made from recycled polypropylene woven plastic. These bags feature a layer of oriented polypropylene on the surface, offering a smooth finish, water-repellant properties, and improved durability. This combination makes the bags sturdy, reusable, and less prone to tearing or wear.
Please note that the new bags are white, and because they are made from recycled materials, slight color variations or visible flecks from recycled content may appear on the surface. This is a natural characteristic of the recycled material.
This summer, Taiwan (where the previous canvas bags were manufactured) faced multiple typhoons that disrupted shipments. Some batches of bags arrived damp, smelly, and completely unusable, which sadly meant we had to dispose of them. On top of that, we incurred additional import taxes for replacements—an experience we’re determined to avoid in the future.
The new bag material was chosen to help mitigate these challenges, as it is less prone to absorbing moisture. Its lightweight construction also makes handling and shipping easier for both our team and our customers.
The inspiration for the design came from a Trader Joe’s shopping bag that Squishdelia sent me as a gift. I used that bag often for groceries in Japan and always wished our bags could fold small enough to fit into the back pocket of a pair of jeans. Well, now they can—and here we are.
We recognize that some folks may feel uncertain about this change, and we genuinely empathize. Our commitment remains focused on making thoughtful decisions that move the brand forward and support our long-term goals. While we understand that change can lead some customers to part ways with us, we deeply respect those decisions and value the conversations and feedback they spark. Your opinions help us refine and reinforce our approach to product development.
Looking ahead, we are working to ensure a reliable supply of packaging by exploring multiple sourcing options and prototyping new designs. Packaging shortages in the past have directly impacted the availability of Smart Dolls, and we’re taking steps to prevent this from happening again.
As a result, you can expect more frequent design updates to our bags. We kindly ask that you base your decision to purchase a Smart Doll on the doll itself, rather than the specific packaging, as these designs will continue to evolve to meet practical needs. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to make our operations more sustainable and efficient for everyone.
