About Shipping Fees

This page provides the latest information on our shipping rates. We continuously adjust these rates in response to the increasing charges from DHL and FedEx. Despite these increases, we continue to absorb a significant portion of the shipping costs, ensuring that they are not fully passed on to you.

This subsidy comes partly from our product margins, which we allocate to help cover these shipping expenses. As you can see from our recent DHL bill, we are subject to various additional charges including "Remote Area" fees, "Emergency Situation" surcharges (even post-pandemic), and a "Fuel Surcharge". To top it off, we're also taxed on these services. FedEx charges us a "Demand Surcharge" when they are busy...(which is all the time).

Both DHL and FedEx calculate charges based on volumetric weight. This means that even if a product weighs just 100 grams, if its size exceeds the volume of the lowest tier, the cost jumps to the second tier.

Our Smart Dolls are shipped in thick, double-corrugated boxes. This sturdy packaging ensures their protection and also maintains their cryosleep during transit. Since the cargo hold temperature can be 20 degrees colder than in the passenger cabin, cryosleep is necessary for a comfortable journey for the dolls.

However, the weight and size of these boxes contribute to the higher courier charges. We recommend keeping this page bookmarked, as we will regularly update it to reflect any changes in courier pricing.

DHL and FedEx have announced further increases in shipping rates (DHL and Fedex announcements). Despite these adjustments, we have been absorbing a significant portion of the costs to minimize the impact on our customers.

We understand that shipping fees are an important consideration, and with major retailers offering free shipping, it is reasonable to question why we do not do the same. While we previously provided free shipping until 2022, sustaining this model long-term was no longer viable.

Although we anticipate future shipping cost adjustments, we will make every effort to delay any increases. Should an adjustment become necessary, we will provide customers with at least five days’ notice before implementation.

We recognize that shipping costs influence purchasing decisions, and we encourage customers to choose brands that align with their shipping preferences. At this time, we do not plan to reintroduce EMS due to its limited tracking capabilities and longer delivery times, as we prioritize shipping methods that ensure reliability and transparency.
