This post outlines our priorities when deciding availability across the different skin tones we produce.
With the introduction of the Pear body and the revival of the Guys body alongside the Classic body, we’re now managing six skin tones: Milk, Cinnamon, Tea, Coffee, Cocoa, and Green — not to mention the upcoming White, Blue, and Cortex too (!)
While Milk and Green were initially planned as limited runs, many of you have requested that we keep Milk around longer, and we’ll do our best to accommodate that — but it does come with some compromises.
Our main production focus will be on what we call our primary tones, with priorities as follows:
- Primary tones (Cinnamon, Tea, and Coffee) for Classic and Pear body girls
- Milk and Cocoa Classic girls
- Guys in Cinnamon, Tea, and Coffee
- Guys in Milk and Cocoa
- Fantasy tones like Green, White, Blue Terminator Chrome, Invisible etc.
Because we focus production on these primary tones, availability for other tones may become limited, and some may temporarily sell out.
Cocoa isn’t being discontinued, but it may go out of stock from time to time as we prioritize our primary tones. Milk will remain available for as long as possible, though we don’t plan to make it one of our primary tones. Green, however, is nearing the end of its run.
To maintain a healthy, sustainable working environment for our team, these are the trade-offs we need to make.
While other brands may offer a wider range of tones and greater availability, we’re happy those options exist because everyone’s collection is personal. We hope Smart Doll can complement the diversity of choices out there and remain a meaningful part of your world.
Note on Terminology
When we refer to “primary tones”, it relates purely to production priorities and not to any form of preference or hierarchy. It’s simply about balancing resources, demand, and workflow efficiency — all skin tones are equally valued in our design process.
