We started exploring a Smart Doll wheelchair after hearing from folks in the community who wanted better ways to represent their everyday reality.
We looked into producing it as a finished product and invested time into the design and development. However, the tooling costs required for production are extremely high, which would push the final price to a level that makes it difficult for the people who need it most to access.
Rather than compromise on accessibility, we’ve decided to release the 3D STL files for free, so anyone can print and use them. (

This is the third iteration of our wheelchair design. It was shaped not only by feedback from folks in the community who rely on wheelchairs, but also by the unique proportions of Smart Doll. Their longer thighs and shins meant that real-world human ratios didn’t translate directly, so the geometry had to be rethought from the ground up.
The overall width was designed to accommodate the Pear body. Softer body types, such as the Peach body, may sit more naturally as the material allows the thighs to rise slightly higher, making it easier for the feet to rest on the footrests. If you find that the feet don’t quite reach, you’re welcome to modify the data to better suit your setup.
You’ll notice the overall silhouette leans slightly forward, giving it a more dynamic and balanced stance. The front footrest takes on a more stylized, almost foiled shape, reinforcing the subtle futuristic vibe while still serving a practical function.
The larger rear wheels and simplified spoke design keep the look clean and graphic, while also considering durability for production.
No assembly instructions are provided, so please refer to the photos above as a guide.
Feel free to modify, improve, and even sell your versions - no need to ask for permission.
The original version uses tyres
sourced from Amazon. If you’re unable to get the same ones, you can modify the data or model a simple 3D ring as a replacement.
You’re also welcome to resize or adapt the data to fit other doll brands. Ideally, this is something that can be used more widely across the community.
