Before choosing a Porcelain White Smart Doll, please take a moment to review the notes below. Our goal is to ensure clarity upfront so there are no surprises later.
- This version uses a full soft body to ensure that all parts age and yellow at a similar rate, helping reduce long-term color mismatch.
- Due to the lighter tone, any yellowing that occurs will be more noticeable compared to our other skin tones. While we do not have long-term statistical data specific to this tone, visibility of change is inherently higher on lighter materials.
- If you live at a higher altitude, UV exposure may be stronger. If your Smart Doll is taken outdoors in direct sunlight, this can accelerate yellowing over time.
- Some folks have found full soft bodies more difficult to dress due to the grippier surface.
- On the flip side, the full soft body offers a wider range of articulation, which may feel noticeably different compared to the default hard frame.
- Blemishes are more visible on white material. As a result, production has a higher rejection rate, which impacts both pricing and batch availability.
- Characteristics such as air bubbles, stretch marks, dents, and small bumps are inherent to slush casting. We carefully reject parts that may negatively affect the overall aesthetic. However, even accepted parts may show these characteristics more clearly on white. This can give the impression of lower quality compared to other tones, but in reality, it is simply due to increased visibility. If you are particularly sensitive to surface marks, this may not be the right option for you.
- White tones are more prone to visible discoloration over time due to material aging. Slight differences in hue can also occur, even within the same batch. If you are looking for strict color consistency or plan to mix parts over time, we recommend considering other options.
- Availability of Smart Dolls and option parts may be inconsistent. This is due not only to the higher rejection rate for lighter tones, but also ongoing disruptions to raw material supply linked to the situation in the Middle East, affecting sofubi and related materials.
