I’d like to address a frequently asked question about the color of the painted headlights on our bust option parts, particularly for Coffee and Cocoa.
The colors - whether Cinnamon, Tea, Green, or others - are intentionally stylised. After all, even Cinnamon or Tea wouldn’t naturally appear this… pink.
This is a deliberate choice to balance artistic expression with realism. Our design language is rooted in anime-style exaggeration. Features such as larger eyes relative to the nose, or a head that is proportionally larger than the body, are all part of that aesthetic. While we understand this may not be to everyone’s taste, it is a core part of the Smart Doll look.
Since the busts already feature exaggerated forms (some of which would likely cause back pain in real life), we aim to avoid pushing them too far into realism.
Another question we receive is about the larger bust sizes, which some folks may find inappropriate.
For us, offering a range of sizes - from XS through to XDD - is simply part of how we design. Different folks connect with different forms, both in bust size and overall body shape, including options like our Pear body.
So rather than focusing on what is “appropriate,” we focus on offering options. Size - large or small - is part of the inclusivity we aim to provide.
These sizes are not always available at all times due to production constraints, but we do our best to make them available in batches.
I’ve covered more detail on why some of the larger bust sizes were created but not always sold
in a separate article.
Legion in Green - a reminder that our design choices, including headlight colors, are stylised, not realistic.
